About Andrea
With her trusty camera always in hand, Andrea spent her days capturing portraits—businesswomen striking bold poses and soon-to-be moms with glowing baby bumps ready to shine. But her favorite moments? Those happened at home, where her three-year-old daughter’s imagination sparkled brighter than any camera flash.
One rainy afternoon, her daughter snuggled up close and whispered, “Let’s make up a story!” The only rule? It had to feature a giraffe who munched leaves from the tallest trees. “Deal!” Andrea replied with a laugh.
Day after day, their stories grew wilder, filling their home with giggles and sparking endless ideas. Together, they dreamed up adventures as tall as the giraffe’s long neck and as wide as their imaginations could stretch.
Then came maternity leave, and Andrea’s days became a different kind of busy. With a new baby who napped, drooled, and cooed, her hands were full. Her camera rested for a while, but her heart still longed to create—not just pictures, but stories that would help children feel as brave and bright as her favorite portrait subjects.
One afternoon, as she rocked the baby to sleep, Andrea’s eyes landed on her daughter’s pile of colorful drawings. She remembered the magic of their stories. Inspiration struck! She picked up a pen and began writing rhymes, capturing the spirit of their tales—every giggle, every moment of bravery. Night after night, she polished the words, weaving in important Jewish values and sprinkling in extra giggles, sharing each story at bedtime.
Before long, Andrea decided it was time to share these stories with the world. She hoped that other children—and their parents—might find comfort, courage, and joy in her words.
And so, Andrea, the picture-taker, became Andrea, the picture book maker—all thanks to a giggling girl, a giraffe, and stories that grew as tall as trees.
